A couple of weeks ago I was approached by a client to produce a piece of digital content that would gain brand mentions on high profile news and entertainment outlets. I had free creative reign to decide on the concept and format, with a simple digital PR remit.

After some thought and preliminary research, I settled on a concept that would appeal to a wide audience and leverage the buzz around the upcoming Star Wars film – how much would Darth Vader’s suit cost? After researching, writing and designing the piece, my task was to place the finished infographic on as many high profile sites as possible. As digital PR is a speciality of mine, I relished the challenge of gaining placements on high profile blogs and news outlets.

Within four weeks, we had gained placements from Mashable, TIME Magazine, the Daily Mail, IFL Science, Richard Dawkins, Mental Floss, Cinema Blend, Cool Infographics, Gizmodo, Mic.com, Tech Times, AV Club, Nerdist, The Lad Bible, Design Taxi, Death and Taxes and scores of others. You can check out the finished infographic below, and the Mashable post here.
